Untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak is finally here
The iPhone Dev Team today announced the release of an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1. This is the first untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 5.0.1, unlike the earlier one which required the jailbreak process to be repeated every time the device was reboot. Released by an iOS security researcher who goes by the name @pod2g, the hack works on all iOS devices but those running on Apple’s A5 processor (iPhone 4S and iPad 2). For those looking to jailbreak (different from unlocking) their iOS devices, hop over to the iPhone Dev Team blog for directions and links to the files required to do the job.

Google+ will have 400 mn users by the end of 2012, predicts a Google statistician
An unofficial Google statistician, Paul Allen, has predicted that Google+ will cross 400 million user base by the end of 2012. The social network already has 62 million users and adds 6,25,000 new users on a daily basis. “It may be the holidays, the TV commercials, the Android 4 signups, celebrity and brand appeal or a combination of all these factors but there is no question that the number of new users signing up for Google+ each day has accelerated markedly in the past several weeks” wrote Paul Allen in his report.
Since 700,000 Android devices are being activated daily, these new activations will become a very significant source of new users for Google+. If this rate of new signups (625k daily) continues then Google+ would reach 100 million users by the end of February next year and might also register a user base of 200 million by August 2012.

HTC Edge gets renamed
HTC Edge gets renamed, now code-named as Endeavor
A source close to HTC is reporting that the leaked HTC Edge has now been re-named as the HTC Endeavor. It had rippled some serious waves in the blogosphere a few months ago when news broke out that it might be the vendor’s first Quad-core smartphone based on the Tegra 3 processor.
HTC gives all its products a codename before they are officially launched or announced in the market. The ‘Edge’ was certainly a code-name but it rarely happens that a company re-names the codename or changes the codename. We think we kind of know what’s cooking around with the name changing thing. Since MWC is around the corner, HTC could be trying to create some buzz around its upcoming flagship device, now called the Endeavor. And here comes the last twist, this Android 4.0-based handset with its supposed “optically laminated” 720p display and a unibody design might just be called the HTC Supreme when it finally hits the market early spring.
